Inspiration Post 2019!!

This is extremely late, I usually try and post this way earlier, but life happens. I hope the following links can still enliven (en-dead-en?) your Halloween season!

Short Films:

The World Over written and directed by Heath C. Michaels - When a married couple discovers a door leading to a mirror image of their home, they find a dangerous mystery on the other side.

How To Be Alone directed by Kate Trefry, starring Maika Monroe - One woman’s simple, three-step guide to surviving a night on your own.

Rue directed by Derek Franson - Enraged by an unseemly love affair between her best friend and a teacher, a student carelessly awakens a wraith that feeds on its victims' most shameful regrets.

Okay, Google published by Levi Morgan - Makes you rethink smarthomes...

The Wolf Who Came To Dinner a Crazy8sFilm written and directed by Jem Garrard - When Beatrice Barkley, an 8 year old horror fanatic, sets out to prove that her mother's dinner date is a werewolf, he must convince her she has nothing to fear.

ODELAND with Rudi Køhnke and Alex Høgh Andersen - a short drama about walking the thin line between doubt and hope and the choice between truth and lie – a story about a father wanting to do everything in his power to sustain hope in his daughter in a seemingly hopeless world.

Monsters directed by Steve Desmond - Jenn lives in an underground bunker with her family, protected from the monsters that now ravage the world. This is the day that she goes outside… (This movie does not turn out the way you might expect!)

Kookie by Justin Harding - Bree, a dishonest 9-year-old, meets a terrifying visitor after a parenting lesson goes horribly wrong.

The Dollmaker directed by Al Lougher - A grieving mother latches on to a magical surrogate for her lost child. But small miracles come with big consequences.

Missing Halloween - Mike Inel Animation - Two little kids going trick or treating. Sweet and sad.

Zombie Short Films

Lovers Never Say Goodbye directed by Christoph-Mert Hagen - Love after the end...

Recon 6 directed by Blake Fraser - A woman on medication to reverse the effects of zombi-ism finds another suffering from similar withdrawals. When she lets her guard down she discovers that what makes her unique also makes her incredibly dangerous.

Hope the narrator sounds like Sam Elliot! - After a mysterious disease struck society, poor Karl, like the rest of his kind, became one of the many outcasts in the modern world.

Podcasts

Werewolf Ambulance - Werewolf Ambulance is a horror movie comedy podcast. Each week we watch a different film from all eras (many of them so that you don't have to!) and review them for you. (Well worth going back to listen from the beginning. They review a new movie faithfully every week, even when one of the co-hosts was pregnant. 5 years and still going!)

Nightlight - Creepy stories with full audio production written by Black writers and performed by Black actors. So scary it’ll make you want to leave your night light on. Hosted by Tonia Thompson. (Many different types of stories, all creepy/spooky. Narration is generally very good.)

The Call of Cthulhu Mystery Program - A cinematic audio drama and live tabletop roleplaying coalesce into an occult radio play of unknowable horror and black comedy! Each series is a standalone tale, boldly exploring Lovecraftian lore in new and uncanny ways. What dark deeds unfold on the streets of Arkham? And which unwitting souls – innocent or impure – will succumb to the maddening call… OF CTHULHU? (Has the feel of an old time radio play.)

The Atomic Library - The Atomic Library is a scripted audio drama following the staff of the Orson Welles Community Library of Haven Hollow, TX (home of the 1995 Most Okayest Rest Stop) five years after the "Allpocalypse." (More comedy than horror, but definitely post-apocalyptic.)

SCP Archives Podcast - Secure. Contain. Protect. There are things that go bump in the night. Fantastic things. Horrible things. Redacted things. The SCP Foundation was built to keep humanity safe from a world of beings it doesn’t want to know exists. Things of wonder. Things of destruction. And these things have files. A LOT of files. (Based on the website. Good narration, and voice acting. The stories are a bit uneven, but mostly good.)
